Xbox Skill lets Alexa or Cortana control your Xbox One

The Xbox One can now be operated by Amazon Alexa or Microsoft Cortana thanks to Xbox Skill.

Xbox Skill will lets players turn their consoles on and off, start games and apps, start and stop Mixer streams, control volume, control Game DVR and more. You know, all the things Kinect used to do on the console (not that we’re bitter…)

The feature is slowly rolling out to Xbox Insiders before full release; you’ll know you have it when you spot a Digital Assistant option under Settings.

A full list of Xbox Skill commands can be found right here.

What do you make of the feature? Does it make you miss Kinect?
