Xbox Live is down today, 29 October 2022

Whelp.

Xbox Live is down today, 29 October 2022, causing problems for those who wish to access digital games over the weekend.

The Xbox service status page currently says that “you may have problems launching games”, which is indeed true.

Issues will arise for those accessing content on Xbox consoles, PC and through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

I was three levels through four in the Bloody River level of Resident Evil Village‘s new Mercenaries mode — going for the last Achievement that I needed to complete the game (again) — before being booted out and told I needed to be online to access the title I’d purchased.

According to Xbox, issues first arose at 3.00 pm AEDT, and as of 3.45 pm AEDT, they’re being looked at. Let’s hope things are back to normal quickly.

Update: The issue seems to be relatively specific to Persona 5 Royal; the issue was actually identified at 3.00 pm AEDT way back on 21 October. While we’ve had some issues with Live today, a restart of our console (not even our router) has fixed most problems. How have you fared?
