Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family trial ends in August

Before those of us in Australia got to try it out...

An Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family trial plan has proved to be just that — a trial — and it’s ending before those of us in Australia got to give it a go.

As we previously detailed, the scheme provided Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits to groups at discounted pricing. Using the plan, groups of players in the same (supported) country could band together to pay for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a discounted price; each player in the friends and family group gained access to Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold, xCloud game streaming and EA Play.

Available to select regions including our friends in New Zealand, the Friends & Family trial will close up on 15 August.

“We’ll be sending Xbox Game Pass Ultimate codes as a thank you for participating in our preview program (to both Primary and Secondary members) depending on your Primary account holder’s remaining time as described in the table below,” Microsoft recently advised.

No new members will be able to be added to an existing Family & Friends account from tomorrow, 17 July.
