Xbox Cloud listings for Elden Ring, GTA 5 were a “bug”, says Microsoft

Own it? You can't stream it... yet.

Xbox Cloud Streaming listings for popular titles Elden Ring and Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) were as a result of a “bug”, Microsoft has declared.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Microsoft said the listings — which many believed to be an early confirmation that players would soon be able to stream Xbox titles they owned, outside of Game Pass — were unintended and have since been corrected.

“We’re aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles as available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate,” a Microsoft representative said. “We rolled out a fix and this is now updated.”

Microsoft has already told gamers that they’ll be able to add owned titles to Xbox Cloud Streaming at some point, but neither an availability window nor accessible titles has been confirmed as yet.

Xbox owners can already play some non-Game Pass titles via the Xbox Cloud Streaming network already — Fortnite is one such example.
