Xbox 360 store shutdown coming 29 July

You won't be able to purchase games or redeem old codes from that date.

As Microsoft warned back in August of last year, the Xbox 360 store will be shut down on 29 July 2024, with users no longer able to make purchases from that time.

“The Microsoft Store on Xbox 360 and on marketplace.‌xbox.‌com will no longer be supporting purchases,” Microsoft detailed in an email to customers. “This includes games, trials, add-ons, avatar items, apps, gamerpics, game trailers and videos. It also includes purchases like gamertag changes on Xbox 360, Game Pass Core subscriptions, in-game purchases and Microsoft Films & TV. Games and content purchased before that date will still play as intended and content redownloads will continue to be supported for owned content.”

Any existing Xbox 360 codes you have in your possession must be redeemed before this shutdown, Microsoft also advised.

Owned content is safe and you’ll be able to redownload it, of course — and new purchases of Xbox or Xbox 360 content will be accepted on current storefronts (provided the title is backwards compatible on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X).
