The Witcher 3 delayed because “the market is afraid of badly polished games”

As posited yesterday, The Witcher 3 delay is indeed due to the critical response to bugs in recently released games. CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński, talking with Polish financial journalists as translated by Eurogamer, calimed both “the market is afraid of badly polished games on next-gen platforms” and they originally “set the release date too hastily”.

In good news for those eagerly anticipating the game, Kiciński also stated “We don’t want to release the game with bugs that undermine the gameplay.” It is the words of a man confident they will deal with them all before releasing, and after showing no fear of delaying the game to get things right I am confident they will release The Witcher 3 in a more playable state than several recent releases. It is sad that polished games are becoming the exception rather than the norm, but CD Projekt are doing the right thing here, and have handled this announcement well.
