Super Bomberman R sacrifices resolution for 60fps on Switch: Digital Foundry

Super Bomberman R‘s latest update may have bumped frame rates to 60fps, but that comes at a cost, according to Digital Foundry.

The tech site says the frame rate increase comes at a direct cost to the game’s resolution.

Digital Foundry says that framerate is locked at 60fps during Battle Mode, though it dips to around 45fps in Story Mode. Despite the mode, the increase to frame rate means the game now runs at 720p while docked and 540p in handheld mode — a sharp decrease from 1080p and 720p, respectively, pre-patch.

Would you rather a better frame rate or resolution for your Switch games?

Super Bomberman R is available now on Switch. We reviewed it here.
