Summer Game Fest by Geoff Keighley, runs over May-August

Summer Game Fest is a new, four-month event curated by Geoff Keighley and involving breaking news, in-game events, free content and more.

“Designed from the ground-up as a first-of-its-kind, all-digital consumer celebration, Summer Game Fest is a multi-month global festival that highlights video games, the world’s leading form of entertainment,” a press release from Keighley declared.

Events like the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition and Gamescom Opening Night, also run by Keighley, will be part of the overall Summer Game Fest. Additionally, “Xbox and other platforms will offer fans access to playable, limited time demonstrations and trials of select game content,” though, “specific game content and timing will vary by platform.”

Publishers involved in the event include 2K, Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Digital Extremes, EA, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Square Enix, Private Division, Riot Games, Valve and Warner Bros.

More details from Microsoft Xbox are expected next week; we’ll keep you posted as more about Summer Game Fest is shared.
