Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin demo corrupting for most

If not all?

Update 2: The demo has been fixed, so download away!

Update 1: Square Enix is aware of the demo’s corruption issues and will be updating players via the game’s official Twitter account.

We’re aware of issues being experienced while trying to download and play [Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin] Trial Version,” a tweet reads. “We’re working to resolve this issue and will tweet an update as soon as we can, we appreciate your patience.”

Original story: Reports are starting to come in that the Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin demo on PS5 is corrupting upon installation.

We’re starting to see users taking to Twitter all complaining of the same error message when trying to boot up the demo: “Can’t continue using this game or app.  The data is corrupted.”

The tooltip suggests a user delete and reinstall the content… but since it’s happening to most (if not all?) who try to play the demo, we’re willing to bet its an error on Square Enix’s part. Some users, who’ve taken to a Nibellion tweet about the matter, have confirmed they’ve attempted a reinstall with no luck.

The title was announced earlier this morning; its demo is a PS5 exclusive and available until later this month.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is planned for Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
