Star Trek Online Incursion adds Captain Harry Kim in September

The man finally gets a promotion.

Star Trek Online Incursion is the MMORPG’s latest expansion and will add Captain Harry Kim to the mix in September.

The expansion will also feature a Star Trek Prodigy connection in Commander Erin Macdonald, as seen in Prodigy‘s Season 1 finale.

“Starbase One finds itself under attack from a new type of Borg threat,” Cryptic and Gearbox SF said in a press release. “During this attempt to repel the Borg forces, Starfleet receives the help of a mysterious and powerful new ally.

“Star Trek Online: Incursion continues last season’s Multiverse story following a misunderstanding with the Tholians and the tearing of the Reality Vortex,” the pair continued. “A new vortex has appeared at Starbase One and Borg are surgiong through it.”

Incursion will of course feature Garrett Wang, who reprises his Star Trek Voyager role of Harry Kim; he’s joined by Kipleigh Brown as Captain Kuumaarke. Commander Macdonald will be played by herself; Erin Macdonald is an astrophysicist, aerospace engineer, Star Trek science advisor and host of the Dr. Erin Explains the Universe YouTube channel.

Also available in the release is a new paid chance lockbox — Prodigy’s USS Protostar joins Star Trek Picard‘s Enterprise-G as a starship type that you can only obtain through a form of gambling.

Incursion will be available on Windows PC from 12 September; console releases will follow.

At present, the fate of Star Trek Prodigy is up in the air; it was removed from Paramount+ earlier this year and is currently looking for a buyer to continue Season 2.

Star Trek Online is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
