Star Trek: Bridge Crew teams with IBM’s Watson AI for limited-time voice commands

Update: Ubisoft has today advised that the Watson AI is now live within Star Trek: Bridge Crew.

We reviewed Star Trek: Bridge Crew here.

Original story (12 May 2017): Star Trek: Bridge Crew will offer starship commanders the chance to use voice commands via IBM’s Watson AI for a limited time.

The partnership, made available to players after the game launches, will provide players the “opportunity to use their voice and natural-language commands” during interactions with NPCs.

Watson will make possible the “ability to issue commands to non-player crew members in the same way they do with a human crew; by using their voice,” said Ubisoft’s David Votypka.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew heads to HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR on 30 May. We’ve previewed it twice — here and here.
