Spencer: We want Tomb Raider to be the Xbox’s Uncharted

More of Eurogamer‘s Gamescom discussion with Xbox head Phil Spencer has hit the internet, and in it, Spencer admits that he wants the Xbox exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider to help propel the franchise to become a direct competitor to Sony’s Uncharted franchise.

When asked if Rise of the Tomb Raider was a move to combat Uncharted 4, Spencer said, “Totally. I’m a big fan of Uncharted and I wish we had an action adventure game of that ilk.

“We’ve started some, and we’ve looked at them. But we don’t have one today of that quality. This is an opportunity,” he continued.

Xbox and Square Enix used Gamescom to confirm that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be an Xbox exclusive for an undisclosed duration.
