Select games won’t stream through PlayStation Plus on PC

Not that we have that option here in Australia anyway...

A selection of PS1, PS2 and PS4 games will not stream through the PlayStation Plus on PC app as they’ve been incorrectly labelled as PS3 titles, it’s recently been discovered.

Incorrectly labelled titles will not load via the PC app, Eurogamer today reports, backing up a claim first made on Reddit.

“PS1, PS2 and PS4 games that are labeled as ‘PS3’ games will refuse to start,” wrote Iamafatcupcake. “Examples of this are Spiderman GOTY for PS4, 2 of the 3 Spiderman: Miles Morales, multiple Jak (and Daxter) titles as well as all(?) the PS1 titles. This may vary from person to person, but the general consensus seems to be that if it’s labeled as a PS3 game (and shouldn’t be) then it won’t start.”

Eurogamer added that a number of titles including Resident Evil Director’s Cut are missing from the PC app entirely.

We’d test out things for ourselves, but the ability to stream titles on PC or on console isn’t available to Australians. Find out more about the PlayStation Plus Australia experience here.
