Scalebound has been in development since 2006 and essentially cancelled twice

Speaking with Gamespot, Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya confessed that Scalebound has been in-development at the development house since 2006, and effectively cancelled twice since its inception.

“The first idea [for Scalebound] was when we started the company [in 2006] and were thinking of ideas and games that we want to make. The idea popped up there,” Kayima said.

Before Scalebound first went into production, Platinum Games signed with Sega for Bayonetta. The same thing happened with Nintendo and The Wonderful 101, so Scalebound was forced to sit and wait it out.

Scalebound is an Xbox One exclusive without a set release date.
