Saints Row dev Volition absorbed into Gearbox

That's a bit troubling for the franchise...

Saints Row developer Volition has been absorbed into Borderlands‘ Gearbox, Embracer Group has announced.

The news comes as Volition has shipped a big update for the beleaguered title, one meant to fix hundreds of bugs.

In a press release about the update, Volition said the patch was “just the start” as it would continue to support Saints Row into “2022 and beyond”.

Speaking of Volition transitioning into Gearbox, Embracer Group said that the Borderlands dev “has all the tools, including an experienced management team in the US, to create future success at Volition”.

We’ll keep you posted on Saints Row and whether or not this change has any impact upon it or the franchise.

Saints Row is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We reviewed itearlier in the year.
