Report: Sony, Microsoft working on 4K revisions of the PS4, Xbox One

Forbes today reports that Netflix thinks both Sony and Microsoft are working on 4K revisions of their PS4 and Xbox One hardware.

The report comes hot on the heels of Netflix confirming 4K content upon their launch in Australia.

Forbes reports that a representative of Netflix’s Chief Product Officer John Hunt said the CPO “believes that when both the PS4 and Xbox One consoles do their traditional two-year hardware refresh (which would be due around October or November) they will add the necessary components to deliver 4K video playback.”

While neither Sony nor Microsoft have confirmed this as yet, Microsoft has said in the past that it’s willing to consider 4K support.

Considering our dismal internet speeds, are you excited about possibility of 4K-capable consoles here in Australia?
