Compulsion’s Midnight, Obsidian’s Pentiment reportedly two new Xbox exclusives

Xbox's first-party studios are hard at work...

Xbox first-party studios Compulsion and Obsidian are at work on two new Xbox exclusives called Midnight and Pentiment, reports from Windows Central and journalist Jeff Grubb claim.

First, Windows Central says that We Happy Few‘s Compulsion Games at working on a title codenamed Midnight and “is supposedly a third-person action game set in a dark and fantastical world”.

The outlet has shared concept art from Compulsion’s work in progress, showing off harpy-like baddies and the game’s protagonist. The title is said to be “a ‘coming of age’ tale” inspired by America’s deep south and will be a wholly single-player experience.

Next, Jeff Grubb reports that Obsidian has put a small team to work on a title called Pentiment, overseen by Fallout New Vegas‘ Josh Sawyer. Windows Central has backed Grubb’s original reporting, adding that Pentiment is “more of a narrative RPG adventure than something combat-oriented”.

We’ll have more on both titles as news becomes available. In the meantime, what do you think about these two rumoured projects?
