Rocket League cross-platform play: Psyonix is ready and waiting on Sony (and Microsoft)

Rocket League publisher Psyonix say it has “figured out” what’s necessary to make the game playable cross-platform. All it needs to do now, it says, is to “find out where we stand politically with everyone”.

Psyonix Vice President made the confirmation in an interview with Gamespot.

“Technologically everything works, we’ve got it figured out, just a little bit of time to get everything up and running,” he said. “Right now, excitement is the best way to put it. We just want to get in there and make it happen.

“The only thing we have to do now is sort of find out where we stand politically with everyone, and then it’s full steam ahead to finish the solution that we’ve already started.”

Microsoft has said it loves the idea and is ready to implement cross-platform play between Xbox One, Windows PC and PS4, while Sony said it’s doing cross-platform play with PC already and would be “happy to have the conversation” to do so with Xbox One.
