Resident Evil 2 classic 1998 skins coming as free DLC

Resident Evil 2 will receive classic 1998 skins as free DLC, Capcom today revealed.

In addition to the free Ghost Survivors DLC that follows the story of three additional characters during the Raccoon City zombie outbreak, the additional free DLC will provide access to classic, polygonal skins. You can check out examples in images above and below.

The information was provided by Capcom at a Japanese launch event (via Siliconera). We’re checking in with Capcom for more details now, including release dates.

The game already has access to modern skins that use the original costumes from the 1998 release of Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 25 January. We reviewed the game here.
