PS4 software update 7.00 brings changes to Parties, Remote Play

PS4 software update 7.00 will be available later in the week, bringing large changes to Party and Remote Play functionality.

First, the maximum number of Party users will increase from 8 to 16 with the update, which also will improve Party network connectivity and audio quality. In the USA, acccessibility support with Chat Transcription will be added.

Moreover, PS4 Remote Play will support Android smartphones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher. The functionality will be available through the PS4 Remote Play App, available on the Google Play Store.

“Players will be able to use their DualShock 4 wireless controllers via Bluetooth for Remote Play on an Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac,” Sony also advised. “All you need to do is update to Android 10, iOS 13, iPadOS 13, or macOS Catalina (releasing in October) to use this feature.”
