Project xCloud to be added to Xbox Game Pass, says Microsoft

The Project xCloud streaming service will be added to the offerings of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, Microsoft has today confirmed.

“We confirmed that when Project xCloud goes beyond preview, we’ll offer a streaming option for Xbox Game Pass members,” Microsoft told Windows Central. “We’ll have more to share at a later date.”

Microsoft’s statement is a little ambiguous, so that may mean Xbox Game Pass will add a new paid tier that allows for Project xCloud streaming, or it may simply be added to the existing package. We’ll, of course, inform you as we learn more of Microsoft’s plans.

Microsoft recently confirmed that the Xbox Game Pass service has more than 10 million subscribers. A Project xCloud trial is available in a number of countries at present, though Australia is not among them.
