Phil Spencer’s playing with Project Scarlett at home

Xbox head Phil Spencer has confirmed he’s replaced his Xbox One home console with the next-gen Project Scarlett.

“And it’s started,” Spencer’s tweet begins, “this week I brought my Project Scarlett console home and it’s become my primary console, playing my games, connecting to the community and yes, using my Elite Series 2 controller, having a blast. Great work by the team, 2020 is going to be an incredible year.”

We’re happy to help test if needed, Phil — just say the word.

If nothing else, Spencer’s tweet reminds us of Xbox’s intention for a smooth transition between Xbox One to Project Scarlett; in an interview with Stevivor, Spencer said “our goal for our first-party games is that your entitlements will be cross-generation and your Achievements will move effectively with your save game because that’s where they stand.”

Spencer added that Microsoft has learned lessons from the switch from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

“[Xbox] 360 to One shouldn’t have been [two self-contained silos] either,” he asserted.

We’ll have more on Project Scarlett as it becomes available.
