Peter Molyneux talks about the troubled state of Godus

Peter Molyneux and his studio 22Cans is in damage control over their troubled Kickstarter project Godus. In a Community Update video Molyneux, with designers Konrad Naszynski and Jack Attridge, answered some questions from fans regarding the state of Godus.

While admitting some mistakes and taking responsibility for the project not delivering on its original pitch, Molyneux does not promise that the original vision of the game will ever be completed, including the multiplayer component. He blames the overpromising of features within Godus on the need to ‘sell’ the Kickstarter.

Some have turned Molyneux’s past history back upon the developer, saying he’s made a career out of promising much but delivering little.

It sounds like only a skeleton team continue to work on the PC version of Godus. Most of the revenue the game brings in comes from the mobile version and the grand plans to have one God (initially the winner of 22cans Curiosity experiment) influence the world don’t sound like they will come to fruition. Molyneux himself has moved on to a new project, The Trail.
