Perfect Dark gameplay trailer shows off a talented Joanna Dark

It's looking good!

The first Perfect Dark gameplay trailer has set players’ minds at ease after years of rumours of problems at new studio The Initiative.

“Earth has been struck by a series of disasters, bringing ecosystems around the world to the verge of collapse,” Microsoft, The Initiative, and dev partner Crystal Dynamics said in a description for the gameplay video.

“In this first look at gameplay, follow agent Joanna Dark as she hunts down the world’s most wanted criminal, Daniel Carrington, to uncover the mysteries that threaten the lives of millions.”

Check it out above.

The Perfect Dark reboot was first announced in 2020, with Crystal Dynamics named as a partner a year later in 2021. A 2022 report suggested The Initiative was plagued with high turnover due to “slow development”.

There’s no word as to when we can expect Perfect Dark, but it’ll be on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and part of Xbox Game Pass.
