No, CD Projekt Red isn’t working on 3 Cyberpunk games

CD Projekt Red isn’t working on three separate Cyberpunk 2077 projects, the developer has confirmed.

The confusion has come from a report by Polish outlet, funnled through Google Translate, which seemed to confirm that CDPR had three teams working on a different Cyberpunk project each. In reality, there are three teams that are working on the one game: Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red clarified the situation with GameSpot, saying, “We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and Kraków, who are handling the main game, as well as the Wrocław studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D.

“A separate, dedicated team at the Warsaw studio is handling the development of Gwent. The final team is Spokko, which is currently working on a yet unannounced mobile project.”

Nothing was mentioned of a report that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature multiplayer. We’ll keep you posted.

Cyberpunk 2077 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 16 April 2020. We previewed the game at E3 2019 here.
