Newfound Courage leaves Steam early access today

Newfound Courage, a charming coming-of-age adventure title that looks up to works like Love, Simon and Fable, will leave Steam early access later today.

Created by Queenslander Curtis Campion, Newfound Courage entered early access in late October 2018 and since been shortlisted by the Melbourne Queer Games Festival, of which Stevivor was a media partner. In it, players take control of Alex, a young man who lives in a town obscured by the shadow of The Vault, a “mysterious institute containing the knowledge of a long-dead civilisation.” It’s here that Alex meets another young man by the name of Jake.

“Right now, if you’re underage, or just an adult who wants to play a non-sexual game with a gay story, there are not a lot of options out there,” Campion told Stevivor back in August of last year when the game was first announced. “I want to change that.”

Since entering Steam early access, the title has been updated with new content and the ability to earn six in-game Steam Achievements.

Newfound Courage will be available as a full release on Windows PC and Mac via Steam later today. We previewed the title back in November last year.
