Phantom Abyss Overturned update now available

The update will tidy up some things as well as brings in lots of new content for players

The new Phantom Abyss Overturned update has just been released and is packed with new features and improvements.

Phantom Abyss was initially released to Steam Early access in June of this year and has already amassed a community of players that continues to grow as time goes on.

“We’ve been working around the clock to deliver a brand new Overturned update to Phantom Abyss,” said developer Team WIBY and publisher Devolver Games in a statement. “It delivers a bunch of new content, features, and fixes, as we prepare to further expand the game throughout Early Access.”

Here’s what to expect as part of the update:

  • 28 new rooms have been added to the game, including 7 new corridors and 21 new main rooms have.
  • Brand new rotating rooms have been added and scattered throughout the game
  • New connection retry prompts will now come up if your network connection fails. Therefore, players have the chance to restore and retry their run without losing their progress.
  • Small trap doors now have a visual variation to show whether they are going to trigger on a timer or by proximity.
  • Players will now be able to use their sharing ID’s in the portal menu.
  • The Portal UI has also been re-worked to be clearer and easier to use.
  • The Basic Whip will be receiving a Blessing.

Other items like stability and back-end fixes, post-processing updates for Caverns and Inferno, and updated visuals are also part of the update.

Phantom Abyss is currently available on Steam Early Access (and is currently at 25% off until 30 August). We recently previewed the title here.
