NES, SNES Classic Minis won’t be available after the holidays

Nintendo wants to remind customers that NES and SNES Classic Mini systems will not be available for purchase after the holiday season.

Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime made the confirmation with THR.

“We’ve also been clear that, at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, they’re gone. And that’s it,” Fils-Aime said.

Nintendo certainly takes advantage of the holiday season — the limited-time availability of the Classic Mini costumes helps the publisher earn 60% of its annual revenue over this specific period.

In November, Nintendo confirmed it had “no plans” to make an N64 Classic Mini. Not to be outdone, Sony’s jumped on board the mini retro console craze lately with the PlayStation Classic.
