Minecraft Earth to be shut down in June 2021

Mojang will "re-allocate... resources to other areas".

Minecraft Earth will be shut down on 30 June 2021, with developer Mojang confirming it will “re-allocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community.”

Mojang has today released the final build of the augmented reality (AR) game, removing real-money transactions, reducing ruby costs and time requirements for crafting and smelting.

Moreover, those who sign in between now and 30 June will receive ” a set of Character Creator items”.

Mojang will delete any Minecraft Earth player data “unrelated to Character Creator and Minecoin entitlements” on 1 July 2021.

Current Minecraft Earth players can head to a full FAQ here, which details more of the process.

Minecraft Earth is available on iOS and Android devices.
