Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard will reportedly be approved by EU regulators

One seven thousand more hurdles to go...

Microsoft’s planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard looks set to be approved by EU regulators, according to a report from Reuters.

The outlet, citing sources familiar with investigations into the acquisition, says moves by Microsoft including Call of Duty parity on Nintendo platforms and the availability of Microsoft’s library on NVidia GeForce Now have won over European Commission regulators.

While this is certainly good news for Microsoft — if true, of course — the company will still need to win over the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority alongside the USA’s Federal Trade Commission before acquisition can move forward.

We’ll of course keep you informed as we learn more about the situation.
