Metal Gear Online will let you play one on one

Metal Gear Online is getting more match options, with the official Twitter account for the game announcing today that all size of matches from 1 v 1 to 8 v 8 can be set up in custom matches.

It is worrying that the most basic customisation you can have in a match, the number of players, is a feature announcement that had to be added “after some deliberation and thanks to (player) input”. Increasingly these days you play how the developer intended or not at all, we are a long way from custom servers and being able to alter just about every aspect of a multiplayer game.

Still, this is good news for those interested in the online multiplayer side of the stealth action series. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain arrives 1 September, with Metal Gear Online included as the multiplayer package, for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, and 15 September for PC.
