Halo Master Chief Collection will be added to Xbox Game Pass

Halo The Master Chief Collection will be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, Microsoft has confirmed.

The confirmation comes by way of a tweet from Xbox itself. With the caption of “Just say when,” a number of titles are represented by fast-food take out bags. In addition to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Super Lucky’s Tale, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 are also shown.

Super Lucky’s Tale, Rise of the Tomb Raider (March 2018) and Sea of Thieves (April 2018) are already part of the subscription program and Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 will be added to the program on the day they launch. The only title up in the air is Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Taking to a Halo Waypoint update last month, developer 343 wouldn’t commit to a date of availability.

“Right now we’re focused squarely on delivering an awesome game update and decisions on when/where/how MCC is released and made available to players will be made by other groups at Microsoft,” the developer wrote in a reply to a question asking of Xbox Game Pass availability.

“We have nothing to announce today but it’s something we’re definitely thinking about.”

We’ll keep you informed as we learn more.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is an Xbox One exclusive that bundles Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo 3: ODST (via DLC). We reviewed the title here.
