Halo The Master Chief Collection PC release coming this year

A Halo The Master Chief Collection PC release was today confirmed by Microsoft and 343 Industries.

The bundle — which eventually will include Halo: ReachHalo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign) and Halo 4 — will come to Windows PC via both the Microsoft Store and Steam. Reach will be made available first sometime later this year, while additional titles will be added afterwards in chronological order. The titles will be released one at a time on PC in order to ensure quality control.

“For the team at 343 Industries, the most important and critical element of this project is ensuring that Halo: The Master Chief Collection delivers a true ‘first class’ experience on PC,” 343’s Brian Jarrard detailed today. “We’re embarking on a journey with our community to build a PC experience that delivers on PC gamer expectations. The team is passionately committed to ensuring that all of the features, bells, and whistles expected in a modern PC title are included with MCC.”

343 Industries has partnered with Splash Damage and Ruffian for the game’s PC version.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on Xbox One and heads to Windows PC later this year. We’ll have more on the PC version as it’s made available.
