Halo Infinite won’t have real-money loot boxes, says 343

Halo Infinite won’t have loot boxes, developer 343 Industries has confirmed.

343 studio head, Chris Lee, took to Twitter to make the confirmation after a recent job listing fuelled speculation.

“I can definitely say that Halo Infinite will not include real-money loot boxes,” Lee wrote on Twitter.

Lee’s response is to worries over a job listing posted that was seeking someone to work on “engagement features that encourage players to return again and again,” with qualifications that included “live services” experience in “social and microtransaction systems.”

While Lee has said the game will not include real-money loot boxes, those obtained through in-game currency remain on the table.

Not much else is known of Halo Infinite, but we’ll keep you informed as we learn more.
