Campaign Evolved it is?
Halo Infinite is anything but, with Halo Studios confirming that active development will cease on the title following the announcement of Halo Campaign Evolved.
“With multiple Halo titles in development, we’ll need our whole team’s combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us,” the studio said in an update.
“While we remain committed to supporting Halo Infinite on the road ahead, [18 November’s] Operation: Infinite is the last major content update currently planned.”
Halo Infinite had a rough time of it, releasing without items like a level select or split-screen co-op; the latter piece of functionality was promised, and then dropped in favour of networked co-op. We reduced our original review score after such disappointments.
Xbox Game Studios’ Matt Booty likened Infinite‘s launch to “the classic runner’s mistake of tripping and stumbling as you come across the finish line.”
Halo Infinite is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, and part of Xbox and PC Game Pass.
