Gears 5 Tech Test open to all Xbox Live Gold subs this weekend

The Gears 5 Tech Test will open up to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers over this coming weekend, developer The Coalition has confirmed.

Last week’s Tech Test was open to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers alongside those who’d pre-ordered the game. I tried jumping in early on and couldn’t find a match after painfully playing through a tutorial that seemed like it would never end; hopefully this weekend fares better.

Players will have a chance to check out the new Arcade mode alongside King of the Hill and Escalation. Things kick off from 3.00 am AEST on 27 July. and run until 3.00 am AEST on 30 July. Those who haven’t downloaded the client can do so here; more information about the Tech Test is also at that link.

Gears 5 heads to Windows PC and Xbox One as part of the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere programs on 10 September.
