Gamescom: Sony, Microsoft won’t be holding press conferences

Sony and Microsoft are both opting out of press conferences at this year’s Gamescom.

French Website JeuxVideo has confirmed with PlayStation France that the publisher will not be conducting a press conference this year.

Microsoft has been more proactive with its announcement, taking to Xbox Wire with more information.

“While we will not be hosting a media briefing this year, we’re planning a new and more intimate Xbox FanFest experience for our fans across Europe and worldwide attending gamescom 2016,” wrote Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg.

“We will be sharing more details on our gamescom 2016 Xbox FanFest soon.”

This year’s Gamescom show takes place over 17-21 August.
