Fallout 76 free-to-play rumours denied by Bethesda

Fallout 76 free-to-play rumours have been quashed by Bethesda after making the rounds across social media this week.

Said rumours suggested that Bethesda, desperate to build the game’s player base, would make the game free-to-play to intice users to try it out.

Bethesda took to Twitter to confirm that, “there is no truth to this rumor.”

The confirmation comes as Stevivor’s received several tips that EB Games Australia will stop selling new copies of the game, instead electing to sell pre-owned copies only. Despite several tips suggesting the same situation, we’ve not been able to confirm this is the case — we spotted new copies of Fallout 76 on sale for $39 AUD.

Fallout 76 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
