Fortress Melbourne Firefights starts 5 June with Call of Duty

The first Fortress Melbourne Firefight event will take place on 5 June and involve Call of Duty Modern Warfare, its organisers recently confirmed.

“The first game in rotation is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” an email from organisers reads. “You’ll be playing Gunfight 2v2, so grab a mate, pick a team name, and register now! There’s a $500 prize pool on offer, PLUS secret spot prizes on the night because you don’t have to be a winner to feel like a winner!”

The online event kick off at 6.00 pm AEST on 5 June and requires a $15 AUD entry fee per player on the two-players teams. Organisers didn’t confirm how many teams will be competing for the $500 AUD prize pool. If you’re interested in taking part, head here.

The 2v2 Gunfight, double elimination bracket will feature cross-platform play and best-of-5 matches.

Fortress Melbourne briefly opened back in March 2020 before quickly closing its doors due to the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis. Its Firefights events were first announced late last week.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
