Destiny introducing Connection Recovery to ease the pain of kicks to orbit

Bungie is preparing Destiny for the arrival of the latest expansion “House of Wolves”, revealing a new feature, Connection Recovery. This will reduce the number of action killing kicks to orbit, with more information available in the Bungie Weekly Update.

Bungie Matchmaking Engineer Damian Frank describes Connection Recovery as the game attempting to reconnect to the Destiny servers when some common network errors occur, rather than immediately dumping you out of the game. If reconnection is successful your progress and fireteam will remain and the game will continue.

Connection Recovery will be limited to the new, “House of Wolves” exclusive “Trials of Osiris” event, but will be rolled out across the board should it prove stable. “House of Wolves” arrives tomorrow for all versions of Destiny.
