Destiny 2 Iron Banner, Prestige Leviathan Raid detailed

New Destiny 2 Iron Banner and Prestige Leviathan Raid details were today issued by developer Bungie, less than a week before the big events.

The first Iron Banner event inside Destiny 2 will take place at 8.00 pm AEDST, 10 October and will end at 8.00 pm AEDST on 17 October.

This round of Iron Banner will feature the Control game type, pitting two teams of four against one another. Power levels will not be taken into account, unlike past Iron Banner events.

During Iron Banner, Lord Saladin will be present in the Tower to begin a special event quest, and an Iron Banner playlist will feature in the Crucible. As like other special Vendors, participation in the Iron Banner playlist will earn tokens — more if you win — that can be cashed in with Saladin.

Bungie also teased three new Iron Banner-themed armor sets that will be available as a result of the event.

Bungie also used its weekly update to detail the start of the Prestige Leviathan Raid, billed as the game’s toughest endgame challenge.

The Prestige version of Destiny 2‘s first Raid is recommended for Guardians with 300 Power, the same as Prestige Nightfall events.

“We do not expect everyone to be successful in completing this activity,” Bungie said of the event. “Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there. The Prestige Raid is about mastering a more punishing sandbox. Our goal is not to provide a boon to your character progression, but there are unique rewards to help you shine. Consider this your invitation to prove to the world that you are among the very best of the Raiders who overlook the City.”

The Prestige Raid goes live at 4.00 am AEDST on Wednesday, 11 October.

Destiny 2 is currently available on Xbox One and PS4. It heads to Windows PC later in the month.
