Destiny 2 Artifact Power disabled for Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner

Destiny 2 PvP modes Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner will disable Power allocated from seasonal Artifacts in order to create a level playing field between Guardians, developer Bungie today confirmed.

“We will be disabling the Artifact for Power-enabled PVP (Iron Banner & Trials) until we can implement a Power Cap feature,” Bungie’s Luke Smith said on Twitter. “This cap will allow us to weave Artifact and Power Pursuit together while preventing unbound Power growth in PVP.”

“Somewhere down the road (but before we implement the Cap!), we’re going to talk about what effect Power has on combat in PVP (think deep dive/numbers/etc),” he continued. “All of that is way more info than Twitter can take. See you soon.”

The news should please Destiny 2 players who were concerned that potentially infinite levels of Power potentially obtained through the seasonal Artifact would place those with the time to continue levelling with it at a great advantage over others.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia. Trials of Osiris returns to the game with Season of the Worthy in March.
