Control to add checkpoints, move Control Points in upcoming free update

Control will add additional checkpoints and move Control Points closer to boss battle locations as part of a free update that will be timed with its upcoming AWE expansion.

“When AWE launches, we’ll also be releasing a free update for all owners of Control,” Community Manager Vida Starčević detailed.

“This free update will include adding checkpoints to some of the tougher fights towards the end of Control‘s main campaign, and Control Points will be moved closer to certain boss fights so that you will get to the boss faster should you die and respawn. We’re working on rebalancing some of the combat encounters as well.”

Starčević also confirmed that the paid AWE expansion “is the first content our studio is developing entirely from home” and confirmed it will not have a staggered release across Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 like The Foundation did.

Control is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; its AWE DLC is expected soon on all platforms, while its latest expansion The Foundation is available now on Windows PC and PS4 and heads to Xbox One later this month.
