Save $15-20 AUD buying Horizon Forbidden West on PS4, not PS5

Take advantage of a free upgrade path.

Players are today reminded to take advantage of a free upgrade path for Horizon Forbidden West that will let you save money by buying its PS4 version instead of its PS5 one.

Despite the free upgrade offered to all players both digitally and physically, the digital version of Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 is priced $15 dollars higher ($124.95 AUD) than its counterpart on PS4 ($109.95 AUD). Over on Amazon, a physical copy of Forbidden West on PS5 is a whopping $20 AUD ($98 AUD) higher than on PS4 ($78 AUD).

To take advantage of the free upgrade, those buying digitally need only grab the PS4 version of the title before getting the opportunity to trade up to its PS5 version at no cost; to do so, access your game library on PS5 and select the current-gen version.

When it comes to physical copies of the game, you’ll need to ensure your PS4 disc-based copy of Horizon Forbidden West is inserted into your PS5 to able to access and play its current-gen iteration.

Horizon Forbidden West heads to PS4 and PS5 on 18 February 2022.
