Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox Series S release will help improve all others, says Larian

And it's getting close to release.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox Series S release is not only getting close, it’ll help improve all other iterations of the title.

Larian’s Swen Vincke took to Twitter to say that the Xbox Series S build is “very close”.

“Got a nice present from our engineers,” Vincke added. “Ensuring memory is well under control and having buffer for peaks was the main thing holding us back. I think this will benefit all platforms too. Still some work left but very close now.”

While the Xbox Series X version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will offer up split-screen co-op, the Xbox Series S will not — under special permission to not need parity, as given to Larian by Microsoft.

“All improvements will be there, with split-screen co-op on Series X,” Vincke said back in August when that news dropped. “Series S will not feature split-screen co-op, but will also include cross-save progression between Steam and Xbox Series.”

While unconfirmed, rumours have it that the Xbox versions of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available in early December. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is already available on Windows PC and PS5.
