Backbone USB-C controllers will work with the iPhone 15 Pro

Nice.

Backbone USB-C controllers — aka those originally designed for an Android device — will work with the newly announced iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Via Polygon, this news means that those with an Android Backbone device can simply plug and play with the new, USB-C connected iPhones.

As we’ve reported in the past, we highly recommend the Backbone as a device for games on the go; it handles local console streaming via Xbox or PlayStation alongside Xbox’s Cloud Gaming solution as well. In fact, we would recommend it far above and beyond Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Portal.

You can grab the Backbone Android Edition for $179 AUD, or the Backbone PlayStation Edition for Android for the same price.

For some, the Backbone won’t be necessary — as part of announcements today, Apple confirmed that titles including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding will make their way, natively, to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
