Assassin’s Creed: Unity big patch fixes detailed

We already knew Stevivor head honcho Steve Wright was one in a million, but his being the only man alive not to experience the glitchy mess within Assassin’s Creed: Unity proves it once and for all. For the rest of us, Ubisoft Montreal have outlined what will be included in Patch 3 for the game on their website, otherwise known as “the patch that fixes everything”. While not final, the patch will include fixes for:

  • Stability fixes to reduce the number of crash situations.
  • Gameplay bugs such as getting stuck on certain architecture and objects, glitching in and out of cover, animation bugs and camera issues.
  • Matchmaking and online connectivity, fixing bugs joining games and during host migration.
  • AI and crowd, generally tightening up NPC behaviour.
  • Menus and user interface bugs such as pop-ups overlapping and missing menu items.

While not mentioned specifically as included in the patch, frame rate concerns are also being investigated. From the wording used it looks like those won’t be addressed in Patch 3. Let’s hope Ubisoft have more success dealing with the issues in their game than Evolution Studios have had with Driveclub and 343 have had with The Master Chief Collection.
