Another round of Twitch layoffs cost 500 employees their jobs

Here we go again...

Following a report that Unity will shed 1,800 roles in layoffs, Bloomberg reports that another round of Twitch layoffs will impact 500 employees.

This round of Twitch layoffs will reportedly impact 35% of the organisation, following layoffs totalling 400 in 2023 and news that Twitch would pull out of South Korea due to rising operating costs.

The report also follows news that Twitch’s chief revenue officer, chief content officer, chief customer officer, and chief product officer all departed the company over 2023.

As we’ve reported, an estimated 10,000 layoffs have rocked the gaming industry of late, impacing developers and publishers including Codemasters505 Games’ Digital BrosAmazonBungieMedia MoleculeUbisoft, Aussie studio League of Geeks, Versus Evil and many more.
