An Aussie dev wants your real-life rental horror stories

You can help shape the next game from the makers of Queer Man Peering Into a Rock Pool.jpg.

Aussie developer Fuzzy Ghost is on the hunt for real-life rental horror stories in order to make its next game, Janet De Mornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch).

The makers of Queer Man Peering Into a Rock Pool.jpg are calling for local submissions here. The call for entries will be open until 25 March; those stories selected for inclusion as in-game case files will net their owners a free copy of the game.

“[Janet De Mornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch)] is a ridiculous but horrifyingly relevant story about found-family, queer lives, and landlord overreach,” said Fuzzy Ghost co-founder, Pete Foley.

“We wanted to make a horror game, so we asked ourselves: In Australia in the 2020s, what’s something that’s truly terrifying? To be honest the answer came pretty quickly — being a renter,” added co-founder, Scott Ford.

“[Janet De Mornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch)] is a horror comedy about renting, and it feels like everyone we know has had a rental experience that’s horrible, or hilarious or both. We wanted to share their stories, as well as our own. Just have a great big bitch session, really. But in a game,” Ford continued. “And with witches.”

As an aside, can we have a chat to Fuzzy Ghost about the overly-long titles they choose for their works?
