343 Industries isn’t working on Halo 3: Anniversary

Halo‘s 343 Industries has taken to Reddit to assert it is not working on Halo 3: Anniversary Edition.

The developer recently said it was preparing something for E3 2017 that wasn’t Halo 6. While we thought the announcement was likely tied to the recently-released Halo Wars 2, a bunch of fans were hopeful 343 was working on a remaster of the Xbox 360 hit. It wouldn’t be a silly assumption either — 343 has remastered both Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 in years past.

Sadly, that’s not the case, as 343 Industries’ Brian Jarrard explained.

“OMG stop,” he wrote. “There is no Halo 3 Anniversary.”

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, folks.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more of 343’s E3 2017 plans. E3 2017 takes place over 14-16 June at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, USA. Microsoft’s press conference is scheduled for 7.00 am AEST on Monday, 12 June.
